Spring & Liver Workshop

March 28th 9:30-11am PST

Special Live Online Zoom Workshop Class

A Ceremony to Welcome Spring

Winter asked us to slow down — a season of stillness, storage, and deep restoration. Many of us spent these months beneath the surface, listening, gathering energy, and quietly feeling what has yet to take shape.

And now, something begins to stir.

Spring rises with a very different movement — upward, expansive, and alive with possibility. The energy of the Liver moves like a shoot pushing through soil, carrying vision, direction, and the impulse toward change.

You may already feel it.

Restlessness. Creativity. Irritation. The desire to move your life forward.

This is the emotion of the Liver and the Wood element.

Yet Wood energy can also surge too quickly. When the Liver Qi becomes constrained or forced, it can show up as frustration, tension, indecision, or scattered effort — pushing without clear direction.

Within this activation, we can mistake urgency for clarity and action for alignment.

There are ways to move with this energy skillfully — without forcing growth or exhausting yourself.

In this workshop–ceremony, we will work directly with the energy of Spring through Liver Qigong forms designed to circulate and harmonize Qi. We will explore practices that soften constraint, clarify vision, and support right timing. We will also touch on the medicine of the Gallbladder, helping us choose a direction and take steady, courageous steps forward. The session will be a combination of lecture, meditation, Qigong practice, acupressure, and reflection.

Topics we will explore:

  • The Wood element — growth, vision, and healthy expression of movement

  • Harmonizing the Liver: releasing stagnation and supporting smooth flow

  • The Gallbladder: decision-making, timing, and committed action

“I have just three things to teach:
simplicity, patience, and compassion.
These three are your greatest treasures.
Simple in actions and in thoughts,
you return to the source of being.
Patient with both friends and enemies,
you accord with the way things are.
Compassionate toward yourself,
you reconcile all beings in the world."

-Tao De Ching, Chapter 67
